Today is the 15th anniversary of the terrorist attacks that shook our country. San Jose put on an event to remember those men and women who died on this day. The ceremony began at the Cathedral of Faith in downtown San Jose where mass was held. After mass, personnel lined up in the middle of Market Street and marched down to Station 1 for the last alarm bell to be rung.
SJFD Chief Curtis Jacobson, SJPD Chief Eddie Garcia and Mayor Sam Liccardo were a few of those who spoke outside of Station 1 to the crowd of civilians and emergency crews in attendance.
This day is truly a tragedy but SJFD and SJPD put on an amazing event to honor it. Thank you to all those who lost their lives in the ultimate sacrifice and those that serve daily for the people you don't know.
