Engine 5, Engine 1, Engine 7 Truck 1 Squad 5 and Battalion 1 all responded to Northbound 880 at Gish Road for reports of a bus that was on fire. Engine 5 was first on scene and immediately searched the bus to make sure that all the passengers were off the bus. After checking and speaking to the bus driver the passengers were escorted down the ram to a safe place to wait. Fire crews dropped attack lines and quickly extinguished the fire which began in the back of the bus at the motor. CHP shut down Northbound 880 at 101 until the fire was under control, at that time they opened up the number 1 lane for traffic. Fire crews will stay on scene for overhaul and a second bus is already en route to pick up the 16 passengers. No injuries have been reported.
