There has been complaints that stations are not adequately staffed with the appropriate amount of fire fighters and engines/trucks for our city. As we saw across from station 30, a station without an engine is unable to immediately start fire suppression. Luckily for the residents of 910 S 3rd street there is a fire station with an engine across the street from their home. Engine 3 responded and dropped an attack line reporting a basement fire and achieved quick knockdown. By the time the balance of the full first arrived on scene crews were checking for extension. No injuries were reported at the time of the fire. Great job SJFD with stopping the fire from advancing through the home.
